About Red Dot Design Award

The Red Dot Design Award is an international design competition. The accompanying distinction “Red Dot” label with which the laureates can communicate news of success, has become one of the most recognized quality marks of good design in the world. The award has three different disciplines “Red Dot Award: Product Design”, “Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design” and “Red Dot Award: Design Concept”.

Product Design, one of the three disciplines of Red Dot Reward, is an international design competition dating from 1955. Manufacturers and designers from all over the world can choose from roughly 51 categories in which to register their best products. In line with the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, a jury evaluates all of the entries and only awards a Red Dot to products that win them over with high design quality.

iF Design Award Introduction

The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the world's most prestigious design competitions sponsored by the iF International Forum Design GmbH based in Hannover, since 1953. At the beginning the iF Industries Forum Design e.V. was established to foster and support the “formal design of industrial products” in Germany. In 2000-2002 they combined all relevant areas in design, some with previous award programs they had started, to become the iF Design Award.

Over the years, the competition has attracted entries from over 50 countries. It features six different disciplines and 70 categories. The goal of the contest is to draw attention to particularly well-designed industrial products.
